WOOHOO

Finally got a job! I am so relieved it's not even funny.. seriously. I'm working at a pizza place called Cigi's but it's really easy.. compared to pizza hut. It's got alot of cool people but they do good for the buisness they have and they are trying to expand the buisness. I really like the style there and the people are really fun. I'm just excited to be working again. The job pays $7 per hour right now but after a month i'll get up to $7.50 per hour and then more once 6 months hit. I have a consistant route too in order to get to work. Just so relieved right now I can't express it enough.

A new challenge

Well, the hurricane ended up being nothing more than heavy rain.. meh! Yesterday, at about 6pm or so Matt took me to a meeting at UCF for game design. It was involving his Digital Media Classmates and a few others from differecnt majors that were somewhat relating to Game Development. I am not a student at UCF (yet) mind you, however, I get independent study future credit applied to me when I do become an attending student at any college. Since I have experience with graphic design programs such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premier, Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, and 3d Studio Max for 3D modeling and a few new programs i'm learning, Matt said I wanted to help which I did to get experience as to what projects are like in class. So this is a side project they are working on for seniors, and I will be helping create a new Fantasy/Adventure game. This doesn't pay, but it gets me a project under my belt, which is good.

We are gonna try to get ahold of the Vicious Game Engine and if that doesn't end up happening, we will use Torque Game Engine. I looked up the website and read some press releases, it's a pretty cool and almost simple looking program to work with. They will also get me a copy of 3D studio max 8 since I lost my copy of 5 (score! an Actual Copy of a $45000 program!) It was a 3 hour meeting and we just put out ideas as to what we want in the game. It is going to be a game where you can manipulate and interact from the environment. You will be able to draw and use magic from earth's nature and elements in order to proceed thru the story and learn new abilities and magic. Art Style will be similar to that of Lineage II and something I suggested was Archlord's environment which is a new game that was released for Beta Testing by Codemasters for a new MMORPG last month. I'm really pumped up about it and I look forward to doing this with the group. They know I have not taken any major courses on 3D modeling.. but I am familiar with how it works and I have books and self-study material to help me learn more as to what is going on. Looks like I have more research to get done as well as see if I can download some new programs and updated guides woooo. Til next time~
